So what really is neon?
Neon is one of the nobles gases, that you can see on the periodic table of elements, with the atomic number 10. It was discovered way back in 1898, commercialized in 1900s and still around since then. It’s basically made by heating up a glass tube, shaping it by hand, then pumping it with the gas. When electric charges in, neon gets excited and that is how we get the beautiful, fabulous colors and the glow of the neon.
You may see cheaper labels called as neon, made of the lousy LED products, it’s true that the technology goes forward, and there is nothing bad about LED signage or lighthing, though it is not the same as real glass neon and serves different purposes.
